Dr. You began working as an associate dentist at Lumos Dental in 2011. She purchased the practice at the end of 2013 and took over operations in January of 2014. Dr. You is committed to continuing the high level of patient care and customer service patients have come to expect from Lumos Dental.
Ever since I was a young child, I have always had a passion for teeth. I can remember being a kindergartner and being very excited about immediately wiggling out any tooth that showed the slightest bit of movement. However, when I discovered that the teacher one room down from my own was known as the “tooth wiggler” and helped kids with their loose teeth, I was absolutely jealous! I didn’t know it when I was in kindergarten, but what I wanted to be since that moment of discovery was a dentist.
I grew up in a small town in the panhandle of Florida called Marianna. I worked hard in school and even shadowed my hometown dentist in high school to prepare for my future career. I went to a small liberal arts college in Birmingham, AL, that prepared me well for the challenges of dental school.
I was excited to finally get to see my dreams realized when I graduated from dental school. I am proud that I am able to be a part of a profession in which I am able to help people every day just by going to work. It is very rewarding when I can help someone in pain or rebuild someone’s smile so that they can go out into the world and better their lives. But, what I also truly enjoy about dentistry is all the relationships that I have developed with the patients that I have met over the years. I have come to find that going to work can be like going home. I am excited to be a part of the Lumos Dental Team, and I am looking forward to meeting and treating new patients like you!
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Justin, our son, Russell, and our daughter, Phoebe. Being a new practice owner has been exciting and challenging, but I always find time to make my family priority and to enjoy activities together as a family. I have a great passion for traveling! While at home, I enjoy cooking and reading as ways to de-stress. And because my husband and I spent our formative years in the south, we are fanatic college football fans and enjoy cheering for the SEC!
