At the office of Lumos Dental our friendly, highly skilled staff is committed to providing a comprehensive array of preventative and treatment services delivered with our patients’ comfort and well-being in mind.
During your visit you’ll receive a thorough examination as part of our proactive approach to preventing the onset and progression of many oral health problems. But some damage and disease may not be visible. That’s why our office utilizes the latest digital technology to produce x-rays allowing us to see deep down into the teeth and surrounding tissues and bone.
These x-rays can reveal the presence of dental disease and give our dentists valuable information on the development and health of your teeth. The question some patients ask is, how often do I need to have them taken? The frequency depends on many factors including your health, age, and any signs of oral disease. Children may require x-rays more frequently than adults because their teeth and jaws are still developing and more prone to cavities.
Our dentists may recommend x-rays to assess new patients and provide a reference point for identifying changes occurring over time. A new set of x-rays may be called for to detect any new cavities, determine the health of your gums or evaluate the growth of your teeth.
Our office uses state-of-the-art digital radiography, which offers many advantages over the film-based x-rays you may recall from the past. This system produces images instantly and requires only minimal exposure to x-ray radiation for our patients.
At the office of Lumos Dental, our staff is dedicated to helping your family achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful smiles. We’re accepting new patients, so don’t hesitate to call us today to schedule an appointment.
